Thing 5
I found google reader very simple to use. It is a great tool to create your own filter and only subscribe to the news you want to read. I could use this to read ideas of educators outside of our local area. Just like in all areas of life, education will advance when ideas and thinking are shared. I suscribed to education news from the New York Times, as well as CNN and Instructify.

Thing 4
Okay, so I commented on 4 blogs! This is a really awesome tool that we can use in our classrooms. I have students write in journals about their reading and have other students comment. This is a tool I could be using to have students respond to each other.
Thing 3
Today I learned how to add widgets to my blog. I took the idiot test and found out that I am an idiot, because I had so much trouble addings this widget! I tried to add a widget to show a different a different island scene each day and couldn't make it work. I am going to try again! Also, I only have one follower, but she is special.

Task 2
Web 2.0 has changed the way we use the Internet. It has become social and collaborative. Our students have access to limitless information and they can share and contribute their own ideas. The expert has been replaced by the collaborator. As teachers we need to allow our students to use technology and collaborate with their peers in the classroom and around the world.
